This biography is an inspiring story of one man's faith and fortitude - one to whom generations of New Zealand Catholics owe so much.
It is a tribute to his zeal in spreading the faith which he held so dearly, that Fr O'Reily was dubbed 'the apostle of Wellington' by his friend and long-time associate Bishop Viard.
A monument to Fr O'Reily in the form of a ten-foot high Celtic cross, carved from a block of solid granite, stands to this day in Mount Street cemetery overlooking Wellington harbour.
