Dying to New Life contains a series of lectures given in Auckland in 1987, just a year before Fr O'Sullivan himself died of cancer in Ireland.
The five chapters of the book provide a theological framework for examining the new rites of Anointing, Viaticum and the Commendation of the Dying, as well as the revised Order of Christian funeral and burial. From his own experience, Fr Eugene gives us valuable pastoral insights on how to pray with the sick. Added as an epilogue is a reflection on the mystery of death, first published in Zealandia in 1976.
